Republic
Their customer is somebody who is up for it and outgoing, freethinking and independent in their sense of style. They like to be out and about having a laugh with their friends. They keep abreast of fashion trends, but without taking it all too seriously. Savvy and streetwise, the Republic customer works hard, but likes to play much harder. With plenty of time to chill out they like to feel comfortable, cool and confident in their clothes; which are as hip, funky and laid back as they are. It's not an age thing. It's an image thing. Their own brand product "Republic" clothing is sourced by their in-house buying / design team and produced to specification by a number of suppliers in the UK and overseas. Republic is influenced by seasonal key styles and looks, and delivers lines that They also sell other brands such as Diesel, FCUK, Bench, Hooch, Gstar, Levis, Boxfresh, Jack and Jones and Golddigga.
There is nothing worse than going into a stuffy store with staff that look bored, can't be bothered to help and don't know the answers to your questions. At Republic they believe in going the "extra mile" to ensure that customers enjoy their shopping experience, in the knowledge that they won't be hounded or ignored by the staff. At the same time, they strongly believe in developing teams and people as individuals to help them grow and to offer them the chance to get on in the fashion retail industry. A full induction programme is carried out for new starters. The retail training programme then takes all new staff through their bronze, silver, gold & platinum levels product knowledge and service, with additional incentives along the way. Managers and Deputy Managers have their own "Personal Development Plan" which covers advanced retail skills such as layout planning, visual merchandising & customer service skills. They will retain their roots in denim, whilst continually adapting their brand strategy to take account of market trends. Plus, they will continue to seek out & track down the hottest brands on the block and bring them to their stores.

Republic operates out of 40+ stores throughout the UK, 4 of which trade as "Best Jeanswear" and 36 as "Republic". Republic plan to open new stores in 2004 /
2005 and convert the existing Best Jeanswear facia to Republic.
The only point of difference between Republic and Best Jeanswear stores is the fascia name and the store design. Best Jeanswear stores have a strong "jeanswear" feel
to them, whereas Republic stores in comparison are bright, light & airy with more of a cool contemporary feel. That aside, the brands and clothing stocked are the same, as is the service offered by the same high calibre teams - all recruited for their great attitude and sense of humour.
