Tesco Superstore
 Tesco has 277 large and 81 compact Superstores around the UK, as well as 224 other supermarkets. Many trade 24 hours a day and all have a sharp customer
focus. Each offers a large food range, and many have great non-food ranges too. Superstores by their nature tend to be large and on the edge of town, with free parking and facilities that include cafés and petrol stations. They're a key element of Tesco, used mostly by customers wanting big, trolley-based
family shopping.
Each Superstore has a Store Manager in charge. His or her role covers both operational effectiveness and team leadership - after all, they'll have several hundred people under their wing!
Within each superstore there is a diverse management team. Section Managers manage areas such as fresh food, produce, ambient, deli, dairy, bakery, café, stock control, clothing, cook shops, customer service and out of hours. Every Superstore also employs a team of Senior Team Managers which
includes a Customer Service Manager, Personnel Manager, Ambient Trading Manager, Fresh Food Manager, Night Trading Manager and Non Food Manager. This structure ensures that the whole operation runs smoothly right round the clock.
